The 2010 ACC Baseball Tournament will be held at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, NC from May 26 through May 30. Well, we set up and ready for a late night tonight at the first day of the ACC Baseball Tournament - which will wrap up as Clemson takes on N.C. State in about an hour from NewBridge Bank Park here in Greensboro. The winner will earn the Atlantic Coast Conference's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
NewBridge has 7,499 seats, and they should see the biggest crowd of the day as Clemson and local favorite N.C. State square off.
What's at stake? Well, for starters, a shot at Clemson hosting an NCAA Tournament regional next week. At 37-19, the Tigers likely need at least three wins for a legit shot at hosting consideration, and that means winning all of their round-robin games and gaining a berth in Sunday's tournament final.
2010 is scheduled to be the fourth year in which the conference used a round robin tournament format, with the team with the best record in each group at the end of the three-game round robin advancing to a one-game championship.
